Ok - looking forward to what can be done to this stupid part of the dash.
I've only had my van for a week now and the space on the top of the dash that seems to be unusable as its so open, is already doing my nut in.
I wish I could have specced a Custom Dash, but alas - not in a panel van.

Did you manage to have a play?
Thinking of buying the VanX Comfort style glove box, but was wondering if anyone has a pic of theirs installed and open? I haven't seen any pics of what the inside looks like.

Andy, I dont know the answer - I am eagerly waiting for Romany Tampin to reply, as this is something I am wanting to improve as well...

Thought i better explain myself as its been a while !
Yeh i bought the speaker cover !
Its mint !
But as yet I've not had the balls to cut the dash !
I've looked closely at it.
As you look down on the tray there is a dash groove right on the edge and the edge of the speaker cover has to go into it, so it needs cutting out leaving a 5 mm lip for the cover to be bonded too !
ITS A ONE WAY TRIP
Once i start cutting it
If i f*** it up ! OMG !!!!
Massive cash !
Dunno if I dare !!
On the plus side my new Alpine has a fan that runs for ages and winds me up. I'm guessing its hot behind there so making a big hole may help that

But it wont say Dynaudio on it or look as cool !

I'll make a paper template and see

Good luck, you are a lot braver than me, but it will be nice to see how it all turns out...
It could be the next "must have" mod for all us cheap dash owners!!
I was tempted to try and cut it to put the Vw top box in but I couldn’t pluck up the courage to do it so took the part back but it’s still on my mind.
