as the title.. What memory cards and sizes/makes have people found work with their dash cams?

I've got a Thinkware F770 with the included 32gb micro SD card but want to put larger in, hopefully a 128gb?

I'm not at home ATM but have a link with some info on my PC, the thinkwares are really fussy about what cards they accept took me a wrong one before I got one that worked.
There's some good info on the thinkware forum, will have a look and see what card I have in mine when the boss gets home later with the van

Had a NEAR miss in mine the other day, managed to download the vid to iPhone using the app, but can't forward it on etc or find it on the iPhone storage, just playable in the app, and by the time I got to download the card it was overwritten..

So new plan will be second card in stock, pull over and pop the current one, and insert fresh card, then carry on the journey..

Most have a button you can press to save so it dosn't get over written.

Cheers @Jay , still getting used to it, managed to get the vid from iphone, I had used the app to download it to the phone, but couldn't work out how to get it to the PC app...

The skinny on this is you attach iphone to iTunes, open the app in iTunes and it shows you the files, then save them to PC,

open thinkware app and then open the file you saved and hey presto...

Still deciding whether to go and see the police over it, as he was over the white line up to the start of his number plate! And yep I got the plate off the video, shows it all VERY nicely!

After I decide what to do mate... Just in case it affects things..

Car behind almost got hit as well, as he was still over the line when they passed him as well! TOTAL t**t! (Joys of linked cams front and rear!)

@travelvolts , wasn't funny at the Time, thought I was going to lose the front right corner of my van that I've had for about a month! But at least I'd have had the evidence for the Police and insurance..

To answer your OP @T6 Dave, I had the same issue with overwrite so I swapped to a sandisk ultra 64gb and that has been recognised fine, I tried a 128 that I had for my gopro but that wasn't recognised so it does appear to be picky about its cards.

Cheers @Loz , I've also got my old iPhone with a p&go sim in it with the app for the car, useful at an accident scene to show who was at fault via dash cam, as well as having a camera to get any necessary pics...

@Loz , wire does go down the rubber trunking to hatch (it's a PITA!), first put a pull wire through trunking only and wrap the cable to USB well in tape.. Feed it through, you will have to work the rubber over USB, and pull it in sections... Then the tailgate.. This can be a pain! But after 1/2 hour trying all sorts of feed wires with a mate, put the USB down it and got it 1st go!:D

The camera sits on the glass well, above the wiper spindle (mount is off set to lens). Between the heater element wires..

You might want a bit of black tape over the blue LED, as you can't turn this off, and at night gives a reflection on the glass...:thumbsdown::thumbsup:

Rear camera has an in built mic as well by the way.. Handy! Will defo get the scan disk 64 for now Thanks:thumbsup:

I nearly had a head on with some Muppet last year. I was heading along the A44 from worcester when this Numpty deside's to overtake a few cars and is on my side of the road coming straight at me in the Vitara I slow To first then use the brake ending up stopping dead. The car on the opposed side must have slowed as well as said Idiot only just made it in with me giving him the brings and saying Fcuk you. Any one who had dash cam would have captured my doing that as he went past. Only wish i had a dash cam then as I would have sent it to the Police and put it in YouTube.

Just stick on youtube and then tag the local police force on facebook.

Just had a look at the instructions for th 770. If you see somthing you want to record and keep. Press the 'rec' button. This will keep 10 seconds before and 50 seconds after you press and will prevent it being over written. Hope this helps

Cheers @Jay , still wrapping my head around it all.. But defo like the ability to review situations and learn.. Used to bikes (big and small engined), but still can't believe how many idiots are on the roads nowadays! It's one of those things with the cams, don't know how much you need/want one until you get it! Makes driving more relaxing I think! ;):)

Tell me about it. My works vw crafter got hit the other day. Guy pulled out from dentist carpark. I swerved and he hit the side door/rear arch. Didn't see me coming apparently. Even had drl's on. Good job I wasnt a cyclist/motor cyclist. Made a mess of the front of his Audi.
