Darkside development t6.1 led headlights

Not seen these before, look a lot closer to OE units. Wonder what the outputs like etc compared to the full LED ThQ model
 
Don’t you need to add all the self levelling gubbins if you add aftermarket LEDs? The ad says that the lights come with “motors” but I assumed you also needed the sensors on the chassis to feedback to the control module.

I’m not sure, I did email them to say I have the ‘candles’ from factory not leds and they quickly got back to me and said these would work so think I might give it a whirl and send them back if no bueno

That’s what’s drawing me to them, just don’t love the look of the thq ones though I’m sure they’re good quality
 
Right, "LED style headlights" generally means they look like they could be factory LED, but are projectors with halogen bulbs that you may or may not fit LED bulbs into. I doubt that they are full LED units, more like the V1, V2 & V3's from THQ that everyone fitted to their T6.
 
I'm guessing they'll all be made in the same factory in China and just come in different boxes.

That’s how I read it. I’ve dropped them an email anyway and will share when I get a reply.
 
The response from darkside wasn’t great, no detail and didn’t clarify anything.

I don’t think they’ll be any different to the THQ v1’s to be honest, just a different design.

I've tried to get some more info out of them, they're full leds and have adjustability in them so you can get the beams perfect after installing.. and they have a years warranty, didn't want to say what brand they are though.

Tempted to give these a go, it's between these and the THQ Audi leds but still not sure on the looks of those, it could be a safer bet on quality...
 
Went down a rabbit hole yesterday

Found there’s a few other places selling full LED headlights for the 6.1s now as well. About 3 or 4 different styles by the looks of it.

So few more options on the table. Just need someone to buy one of each and compare the beam patterns now…

Il likely be changing mine before the winter and darker nights come round again so will do some more research and see how things pan out on here

I think I’m going to go for the ones above, now that I know they’re full led 👍🏼. I like the look of oem ones. Soon as I pull the trigger I’ll post and let anyone know what they’re like.
But I’m thinking the same until the nights start drawing in, I’m not doing any night driving at the moment.
Do you know if the above still have day running function and auto when it gets dark? Assume they would

I can’t see why they wouldn’t, I think the sensors completely separate to the lights anyway and just sends a signal to relay to switch them on.
