CXEB - Do I need new boost pipes after compression test?

I've been ringing around for prices on a compression test on my 2018 CXEB and the prices are varying wildly. My local specialist wants £300 and VW commercial ranges from £174-500.

The cheapest VW van centre, £174, said it'll only take them an hour but if it was a VW warranty job (it is not) they're also meant to replace the boost pipes at an additional cost of nearly £300. The reason being removing them can unsettle something, but it was 2nd hand information between the lead tech and the service manager.

No one else has mentioned that, so are they just being over cautious or is that something that needs doing? Obviously I want to just pay the cheapest prices for my 4 (hopefully) magic numbers.

That’s just VW firing up the parts cannon, covering their arsenal as every possible point at your expense… I’ve had my boots pipes off multiple times, they’re fine… that’s why they’re flexible… just don’t go nuts on tightening the jubilee clips when they go back on.

I wonder why they fit the pipes with re-usable clips if theyre not meant to be re used, rather than the cheaper single use crimped type clip?

Sounds like a L.O.B. to me. They're just tying to gain access to your wallet.

According to the manual they should be renewed if removed.
No reason why they can’t be reused but care needs to be taken to position the hose and clamp in the same position.
Worst case is there will be a leak and the van will go into limp mode.
I’m pretty sure there are cheaper pattern parts available.
I’ve always used pattern part hoses without issues.
