CustomVanz / Raceline

What recommendations are there for a rear spoiler for my blackberry t6, after being let down ONCE AGAIN by the custom van company in chippenham who told me they would have a spoiler for me and could do the work today then telling me after I took the afternoon off work that they havent got any spoilers and the boss isnt even in anyway I just dont trust them to do the work let alone to a high standard, especially since when I first bought the van they hadnt even screwed in the rear seatbelts at the base which my children use or the passenger seat slider rails, or the Pioneer head unit, plus other issues, this coupled with the fact my spoiler flew off that they installed is causing me to look elsewhere. I think Id rather pay another company to install it than use them again even if its under their warranty.

If anyone is thinking of using this company I would be quite happy to give you a list of the custom issues I have had which has tarnished my ownership of my first van.

Any recommendations of a trustworthy company that could do the work welcome, the last 10 days I've been driving around with a thick black layer of sikaflex where the spoiler should be, so that would need removing as well.

Hi
Firstly to correct a mistake, I went to Customvanz to get my big brakes fitted (not Vanworks) see photo. What a fantastic service, I left to get some money from the ATM and when I came back the whole job was done, missed my chance to take any photos of the process. Apparently they have done this brake swap a thousand times so only takes half an hour or so ! They look stunningly busy with a stack of brand new vans in their yard ready for some great conversions. And I’m not saying that just because they gave us a stunning contribution to our giving page for our charity rally.
Also the Eagle eyed amongst you might spot the next change we have made to the front end, as well as installing some seat covers to protect the original seat material. Having spent quite a lot of money in the last few days, travelled a few miles and done a bit of work I think I need to go and lie down in a darkened room.

I contacted Raceline/ Customvanz on the 11th August as I was planning to get my front driver seat, my double front seat and the Smart Bed recovered and made more comfortable - I don’t find the front double seat comfortable when I am parked up and sitting on site for any length of time. I contacted Zaff at Customvanz and we chatted about what I required ( all good so far) he seemed positive and said Costomvanz could do what I was asking of them.

I was directed to a link on the Customvanz site I configured my drivers seat to the leather, colour and sticking that I wanted ( again all good)

I sent Zaff some pictures of the van seating and let him know it was a Smart Bed and the double front seat was on an MS Craft base. We arranged an appointment to meet up at Raceline to finalise things, for 13th September at 12:00 by email

My wife and I to drive down from Bedford to Raceline ( the new show room on Bath Road Bristol) 130 miles approximately 3 hours. We decided to book into a hotel and drive back on the 14th

We arrived at 12:00 as arranged and asked to speak to Zaff: ( the forecourt and the show room were displaying very expensive cars Aston Martins and the like )

Zaff came into the Showroom and said “ hello how can I help ? “ he appeared to have no idea who I was or why I was there !
I explained briefly what I wanted ( slightly confused) - Zaff then informed me that Yes he could change the driver seat and it would be more comfortable - he would have to check with his boss about the Smart Bed and there was little or nothing that he could do with the front double seat: I could change the double seat to a single and sell that seat and the base it was on !

HAD I ARRIVED AT A DIFFERENT COMPANY? WAS THERE TWO PEOPLE CALLED ZAFF ? Or am I just bonkers: answers on a postcard please

He stuck to his story of appearing not to be aware of our original talks and emails and saying there was nothing more he could offer ( I have the original emails on file )

We came away confused - Raceline/ Customvanz are in my opinion an extremely unprofessional , uncaring company and their customer services stinks in my opinion

Following this experience I would not recommend them in any way shape or form

Oh dear.............

A quick google says that you went to the wrong company - you went to Sports, Prestige & Perfomance Cars in Brislington, Bristol | Raceline @ 809 instead of VW T6 and T5 TRANSPORTER CONVERSION SPECIALISTS | CUSTOMVANZ RACELINE ( raceline )
Customvanz is in Chippenham not Bristol.

As an aside.
I cannot read the Customvanz website very easily - it is an absolute mess! Gaudy graphics all over, I don't know how you are supposed to see anything.o_O

My van is from Customvanz, when I called to enquire about the engine mods as I am the second owner they were super ignorant and nonchalant, I will never take my van to them no matter what they have to offer. Rude, with no idea off customer aftercare at all.

I really do feel I should respond to this as with all things the majority of people will realise there are two sides to every story. I do recall you Mr Connington and as I explained to you on the phone, we only offer a upgraded foam support replacement with our leather kits for front VW Transporter captain seats. This is because we use a direct OEM sports foam replacement for the existing seat foams. We do not glue additional foams to existing VW seats or bed foams offered by other companies and NEVER TOLD YOU WE OFFER THIS SERVICE.

It was made clear to you on more than one occasion on the telephone that we would not be able to add more support to your front double bench or your smart bed, for the reason listed above. You yourself said that was not a problem as you were considering a change to a front captain passenger seat, for which I said we could definitely do something. A date was specified by you by email and in our subsequent telephone conversation, you said you would call me the day before to confirm you would still be coming as you said you had not left your home for 18 months.

This is a very unfair representation of what took place. I am sorry you feel let down by your visit to Customvanz, we are very busy and it is not always easy to remember every email or phone call. The reality is more that you did not listen or recall to what was explained to you.

It's a shame you were not 100% honest in your scathing review here and were in fact very rude to me on your visit.

Thank you for your reply: I still have the emails that prove what I have said was correct- As for being rude ? And not 100% honest? I totally and utterly refute this statement.

I fully stand by all that I said in my report and account of my experience with your company, my account is a fair representation of my experience. My scathing review is justified. Your account of my visit in no way reflects my experience.

Dear Zaff,
Having had a look at the link below:

My initial thoughts are: GTR Style 1
Colour: Navy Blue - light blue sticking and piping

I am looking at having the single seat, double seat and the bed ( smart bed ) all coordinated.

I would like the seats and the bed not to be Van like, I would like the comfy ( extra comfy ). The Double front seat rotates on an MS Craft base.

I have attached a few pictures of the van so you can get an idea of colours and how the van looks.

We would like to come down and have a chat, just to finalise the colour and padding. Once that is done I am happy to come done on my own for the work to be carried out.

We were thinking that the initial visit could be sometime in September: 13th/ 14th /15th or 27th/ 28th/ 29th any of these dates would be good for us. I can then be more flexible on the days and dates that the work is being carried out on. We could arrange those when we meet up.

Thank you for your reply: This only confirms what you asked, not my responses to you.

As I said before there are two sides to every story. I have relayed our experience in my previous post and stand by it.

I stated clearly what day and time we would be arriving and you confirmed that this date and time was good. You can stand by your account however it in no way reflects what actually happened.

Dear Zaff,
We will get to you for 12:00 on the 13th September 2021

I haven't really been out the house ( other than away in the van ) for 18 months- we have book to stay in a hotel and return home the following day. The joys of COVID-19.

Just on a side note: the other reason for choosing your company was the look and feel of your website - I probably have as many tattoos as the ladies in the leather section

See you then Alan and Sue.

Kind Regards
