Hi, hoping someone can help. Just fitted the Ctech 250se + 120ah AGM battery, to T6.1, everything seems to be working fine but gets very warm when charging, is this normal?

Hi @Stayca_steve I'm no expert in this field but it is normal for charging devices to get warm when in operation. As for if very warm is normal it depends how warm we’re talking. It’s not unheard of for the surface temperature to be mid/high 20DegC temperatures at full tilt possibly even more. As you can see the Victron Orion charger has a huge heat sink on the back of it to help with heat dissipation. @Dellmassive has a good post on here somewhere detailing components and their surface temperatures with thermal imaging

Thanks and good point about the victron, I think we have a thermal camera at work, will get a bit more than “very warm” ha!
there are many users of the Ctek on here so maybe one of those ladies or gents could pass comment when they see this but I’d go with your comment about the device is normal. Good work on getting it all fitted and working though 
yes at full pelt the top gets warm / hot depending on ventialation and ambients.

Thanks for the info ! All appears normal, I will run it for a while and keep a close eye on thingsyes at full pelt the top gets warm / hot depending on ventialation and ambients.
