Courtesy light cockup

Hi, I’ve been a stalking member for some time now and have found all the faq ideal for a lot of my issues. I think I have created an issue in an area I’m not overly confident in. I purchased some led down lights to replace the two rear courtesy lights, and when wiring them with the existing wires, I could only get them working by using the solid brown cable, and the red/black cable, even though this was opposite to the attached picture. Worked great, coming on when opening doors, turning off after 10mins, but that was when parked up. Now, first time driving, the lights stay on all the time, any advice would be appreciated, I’ve enclosed all the wires in now as well, new lights have a plane white cable and one with rectangles on, (photos not for effect)

LED rear interior lights - How i done it.

so a few have asked, so i though i would just list it here as a post so i could refer back to it in the future.

The lights were purchased from The T6F shop over here >



We were planning to do the carpeting at around the same time, but for the purpose of this thread ill leave the carpeting bit out.

first thing to do was to remove the existing roof lining by popping out the grey plastic hex head pop studs, they all unscrewed easily, the center support bar popped out with a plastic trim tool... no problems so far....
