Communications Issues - JustKampers

I was wondering if anybody else has had communications issues with JustKampers Insurance. I recently renewed my policy and they claim to have sent the new policy documents to me by email 3 times now and none have arrived (and nor are they in Spam / Junk). The missing documents apparently gave instructions that I had to complete another 'Agreed Value' form and submit a fresh set of pictures which I would not have known about had I not chased the emails (I have already paid the Agreed Value premium). I last spoke with a JK representative a week ago and they promised to put a hard copy of the letter and associated documents in the post ASAP but they haven't arrived either. I've got to say that everybody that I have spoken to at JK have seemed very friendly and help but that's not much use without the end result. Anybody else had such problems with them?

Well, if that's the case, maybe I should have said 'JustKampers / Adrian Flux' in the original post. Maybe that will widen the pool for potential responses.

Yep, me too, but not such a positive experience.

I am currently with them, and need to re-new on 14th.

Have spoken to 4 different people there in the last couple of weeks to chase up the renewal, only to be given ever increasing quotes over the phone, I have never received a formal renewal or anything, by post or email ( despite at least 4 promises).

The last two were positively rude, and blamed COVID 19 scams and my hotmail account for blocking them!?

I have been in touch with 9 other companies and have received quotes from them all by email almost instantly!!

I was already concerned about their policy being with Markerstudy (they have really bad reviews), so have gone with Safeguard / Scenic, on an Ageas Policy. Very polite and professional staff, specialists with campervan conversions (so recognise most conversion companies and all the mods) and they were the best price too!

For info - I found that policies with Safeguard automatically include AA breakdown cover (which I don’t want), but they also offer Scenic motor home policies which don’t include it, which I went with. They are both part of the Swindon Group.

In my extensive research for this years insurance (I dread it every year), I was also really impressed with Lifesure Insurance Brokers too. They were equally polite, professional and knowledgeable with campervan conversion policies, and came back with a very competitive quote too.

I will not be rushing back to Just Kampers. Rant over, deep breath....

Andy

Would guess with lots of companies working from home your going to come across issues like this. Had similar problems with a shed I ordered trying to get a resolution.

Noddy, Thanks for that. I doubt it's anything to do with posting here on T6F but I finally had an email from JK this afternoon (timed at 1515hrs) - I forgot to say above that the rep told me she would re-send it as well as put it in the post (again). That means that I can now get on with my Agreed Value submission. Although the policy was with Market Study last year, the new one is actually with Ageas who were cheaper when they reran the numbers after I called to challenge the 'automatic renewal' price.

True Romance, Covid 19 was never mentioned as an excuse by JK and I'm thinking maybe I just got unlucky (a less charitable soul might say it was incompetence cured by my threat to cancel completely if they didn't get their act together!).

have dealt 3 adrian flux on a couple of occasions for quotes etc. always recieved poor service before they have even had any money so vowed never to use them.

Cheers for that - the problem with any insurance is that you never really know how good it is until you need it (and you always hope that you never need it!!!).

@Ayjay I finally got an email today from Just Kampers, but it was to tell me that they have automatically renewed my insurance and debited my bank account! Never did get a renewal and have already gone elsewhere...

Apparently this is now their policy, unless you ask them specifically to put a note on your account when you take out the insurance not to automatically renew it at expiry.

Took ages to speak to someone to get it cancelled too.

Just a heads up!

The auto renewal is a specialism of insurance companies so it's not just them. I had a similar issue with More Than. Took a while but they repaid as I had taken out another policy.
You have to always tell them not to set auto, or go to your online profile and unset it.
I've not had any issues with JK. Been with them 2 years, they beat their own low quote for competition...

Just having a nightmare with Just Kampers insurance. We noticed an error in our details - we put a named driver for no claims even though we have full no claims on other driver. They now want to cancel the policy and reissue another one with a different provider - but this will incur a £300 loss of a £480 policy that is one month old. The roadside assistance that we paid extra for is non-transferrable so that is lost. We were also charged for a driver protection policy that we never signed up for ie you had to opt out. I have waited for 3 days for a call from a manager but none has materialised. Of course, the sales team answer asap ready to sell a policy! Going to the Ombudsman to sort out. Has anyone had a similar experience? I have since spotted some negative reviews about their insurance.

Finally out of Just Kampers - took the hit of £180 from JK after 2 months. Now with Comfort Insurance on Viva. Very happy now - no claims isn't an issue with them. Whoever you go with, check with Comfort before you make your insurance decision.

My insurance is up soon so this is timely. Aside from comfort, above, who else is recommended? I'm with JK at the mo and never had any issues, or reasons to call them.

Out of the ones I tried Advance were also good; I couldn't get through to A-Plan although they come with good recommendation. Maybe I just had a bad deal with JK but their service was appauling.

I had forgotten about contributing to this thread! I stuck with JK and had to call on the policy when I was crashed into last New Years Eve (details posted elsewhere). The actual insurers were Ageas who were very good throughout. After I made my initial report over the phone, the repair work was approved within 24 hours and I got to use my own preferred body shop. That experience was enough to make me stick with them come renewal time in July if the price is right and if the insurer stays as Ageas. If not I’ll be looking elsewhere. That said my problem is that I will be in France for most of June and will have to do it all from there as if I leave it until we get home, I will be in the final week of a policy and that’s never a good time to start panic buying.

Just thought I’d give some feedback on this company.

What a disorganised shower, I’m struggling to contain my anger and frustration at the way this company is set up.

It all comes down to setting an agreed value.

Their online portal for this simply doesn’t work, it never actually submits thr information. So we end up eventually filling a separate form. This comes with a password from them and was quickly sent back. I then get a call out of the blue with no security checks asking what the password is. I tell them you sent it to me so go check, I’m not giving to you.

Off they go again, until I get another letter saying they can’t process my agreed value because they don’t have a form, Arrrgh. Even worse they say it’s market value until I give them the information.

I’m now hanging on the phone again trying to sort it out.

Totally dissatisfied and won’t be using again.

I think the name is being used by another insurance company as emails go back to Sterling Cars.

Watch your brand name JustKampers because I won’t be using your accessories ite either
