Climbing into my new T6

Hi all, I got my T6 Kombi Highline today and am feeling the love. However even at 5'10 I find it quite a climb to get into the van - my wife being shorter found it even more of a challenge.
I passed a van today, it wasn't a VW but he had 'steps on the driver/passanger doors and also at the sliding side doors.... Does anyone know if I can get something like this for my T6?
I have been told that the 'side bars' are for show and should not really be used as steps,
Any help/advice would be appreciated.
Andy.

Side bars are definately for show as well as a bit of sill protection. I believe you can get running boards for the T6, just google them. The other option; slam the van to the floor.;)

Wonder if anyone can help, IV been looking at running boards and saw some advertised for VW T5/T6 Transporter - when I try to order it asks for the van details
Is my Transporter Kombi a
'MK VI (2015-2017) Box'
Or
MK VI (2015-2017) Platform Chassis.

Can running boards take the weight of people stepping on them to gain access to and from the van?

I fitted sill bars but only for bump protection for van.
No good as access help to van though.
As a health professional my advice would be that it will be good training!
:think smile bounce:

My father just had running boards fitted to his car (SUV /crossover thingy). It's actually made it harder for then too get in. They're not quite sure enough to provide a decent step, but wide enough to make stepping over them awkward.

I'm sure different types differ, but thought it with a mention

IV ordered some 70mm Chunky Side Bars with 4 Steps (2 each side).... Hopefully this will do the trick
That's what I have on mine as my little lads legs are not long enough and he was struggling to get in and out, it's tricky to get a decent purchase on them with an adult foot as you only get the front half on facing straight on you have to turn slightly sideways
