Hi everyone
I've just bought a cheap wireless reverse camera and monitor until budget allows a proper decent one, my question is I’m wondering which fuse I can piggy back to wire the monitor up to, the van is 2016 t6 shuttle, any advice appreciated
thanks
Paul

Odd. This post appears under “New posts”, but you are right, I can’t see it in the sub-forum.

Aaah, it’s because there are so many pinned posts - this one is a long way down the page.

I don't know this as I've never actually done it, but when I was looking into fitting an under seat power sub there were plenty of posts regarding which fuses were suitable to piggyback.

Try a search for "fuse piggyback" or similar phrase and you'll more than likely find one of those threads.

I’m ok with which fuse to piggy back now I think. but where is easiest earth point near fuses?
I have looked at earth diagram in vip section but is it a case of under the seats or on wheel arches easy to get to, what does anyone think on this ?
are am I missing something here does fuse board have an earth poin?
thanks

Quick update all fitted and working the picture quality is reasonable breaks up slightly sometimes, now my question is will that be due to being a cheap monitor would an expensive one not break up ? It is wireless so are they all the same.
my biggest frustration is while driving and monitor off with not being in reverse the screen keeps flashing blue as if monitor is trying to come on it’s only a split second and sometimes happens once sometimes several times, any ideas what this as it’s really irritatin, I’m pondering now on buying a more expensive one but concerned in case it is something what happens with all wireless camera kits, anyone have any thoughts or feedback would be great.
thanks

Thanks @DXX thought it must only be this which is rubbish, I should have known better really only paying £25 I think, do you know if I can change monitor only as picture quality seems ok it’s only the blue flicker when driving that’s the problem or do camera and monitor come paired to each over ?
Thanks Paul

No idea what equipment you have. Garmin equipment is paired automatically when installed and items can subsequently be replaced with automatic pairing.
I suspect the flicker is caused by lack of adequate EM screening. IMO you’ll need to spend a bit more than £25.
Post the equipment details and that will at least give others the chance to avoid it.

Cheers @DXX you right I need to spend more, you only get what you pay for and I bought rubbish here is the product I bought and a quick video of the flickering I’m on about. The flickering only happens when in P or D any thoughts from anyone would be appreciated
thanks

Here is screenshot from flickering screen going blue only when in P or D
Only lasts split second but might happen 20 times then nothing for another 5 mins or so

You could try some DIY screening on the monitor unit, nothing to lose.
First try moving the monitor to a different area of the van and see if the image is OK.
if it is OK whatever is causing interference is local to the original position.
Try putting some temporary shielding in the base of the dash compartment, baking foil etc, maybe a few layers.
If that works try making something more permanent.
There maybe some people who can offer advice on possible use of suppressors?????

Thanks so I’m presuming the tin foil around part of the dash where the wireless receiver bit is

I was assuming the receiver is in the monitor, I was thinking it would act as a screen between the monitor and possibly the interference in the dash.
Just throwing some quick, cheap tests out to try that might improve matters.

Thank you for the advice @DXX will be hopefully trying the tin foil tomorrow after work, and see how it goes before ordering a better system, on youtube watched a few videos on autovox wireless cameras and seem to get good review, anyone have any experience with this make?
