Charge cooler water pump.

As some of you will know our van is in a million bits at the minute quite a bit of the engine is stripped so has no coolant in it or very little anyway.

I have noticed if I open the van then re lock the van this seems to fire up the charge cooler water pump for about 20 seconds. Is this right?

Also how much coolant does the CXGB take?

Mine is also in a million pieces, and also does the same when I open the drivers door or lock/ unlock the van.
I thought it was part of the factory aux heater, but it must be the charge cooler pump if you get the same?

I just don’t get why it feels the need to run on unlock or lock it’s a nuisance
