Carpeting ply that has elctricals screwed to it

Evening,

My electrical install under my driver's seat has 2 ply mounts screwed in place. One has an amp on it, the other has a ctek 250s and a fuse box on it. The ply looks a bit ropey so I'm thinking about carpeting it. Is this sensible? The carpet is flame retardant so maybe it's fine but not sure. I'd rather do that than paint it.

Cheers
Si

I was in the same dilemma doing with mine, I opted for painting it black just didn't like the idea of hot things touching carpet

Aye just seems like a load of fluffy carpet and glue is probably not a great idea when space is already super tight. Painting was my original plan, was just gonna spray it black. What did you paint it with? Not had the best results painting ply in the past.

Not sure what i painted it with a rattle can of black, it was prob some left over high temp exhaust paint cos thats all i have in the shed ATM
I just gave it a real good sanding and a few coats of paint and it looks ok i mean it lives under the seat and is virtually covered with kit so is barely noticeable
