Can I really only fit the alloys that websites say I can fit?

Hi all....newbie here trying to fathom all the nuances of what alloys you can fit on a T6. We are picking up a 2016 T32 in a couple of weeks and I'm keen to jazz it up a bit. I've been looking at lots of pictures of Transporters on the web with all sorts of cool looking alloys on them, but when I try to find similar wheels on the likes of rimstyle.com, they seem to suggest that they aren't suitable or that there aren't suitable 'fitments' available (not sure what that means).

For instance, I was looking at the BBS website and love the look of the CH-R and SV models, but the BBS website seems to think they don't have any wheels that will fit a post 2015 Transporter, even though rimstyle.com thinks there are a couple of models that will fit (though not the CH-R or SV sadly).

So I guess my question is.....to what degree you should comply with what the various websites say you can fit? And if you don't have to stick to what they say, what is the best way to check that the wheels you do like will fit and are safe?

Thanks for any tips, and if anyone can tell me whether the CH-R or SV models will fit, that'd be great.

Thanks,

Steve

@Pipedream72 check out the T32 wheel options thread this may help.

Your right, trying to get alloys for a T32 is a challenge....you need a load rated wheel above 860kgs on a T32 with a 5x120 PCD, you can go with other PCDs but will need adaptors and you can go for different centre bores but will need spigot rings So factor this into the cost

I hope this makes sense....

I found that sites like rimstyle only say there compatible if there have them in stock. Best plan is to have a read of some wheel threads especially T32 Wheel Options. and i am sure it will help your find what you want but T32 rims are very limited because of load rating as said.

BBS SV 20" is load rated for t32 but you will need to fit 265/40/20 or 275/40/20 to get the load rating

But you need to look at offsets otherwise you will get rubbing issues on the arches

There's was a post with all load rated wheels have a search on here

Or 18" sportline wheels are all rated

Ok guys....thanks for the pointers. I think I'm gonna either pick something from that thread, or just source them from someone like customvanz so that I know I'm getting a wheel that will fit without rubbing. Buying them from a website, fitting tyres and then crossing your fingers when you fit them is a bit too scary for me :)

You could try Tamar wheels. Paul Young is the owner and full on VW T5 guy and always willing to give advice on wheel fitment.
