Evening, looking for recommendations for this area. EHC, good views, grass pitch and good pub nearby are my must haves. I've noticed a lot of the gravel pitches seem to lose the 'camping' feel so grass and high up would be perfect 👌

Thanks, Mark

Niffany farm Skipton 30 min walk into town along canal towpath.
Riverside at High Bentham 15 minutes walk to The Hog & Heifer. Other pubs very close.
Not Dales but Waters Edge (not grass pitches) or Little Acre at Crooklands close by M6 J36 pub 5 minutes walk or less as there’s one on Waters Edge if open. 5 miles up the road is Kirkby Lonsdale. Rugby club has grass EHU pitches limited opening I think May until end August.
High Laning at Dent 2 pubs within 5 minutes walk. If I can think of any more I’ll add them. I’d have a search of where you want to go on Google maps, that’s how I’ve found suitable sites.

Castlerigg Cumbria definitely grass pitches & a vegan pub close by that sells beer. Or a walk through the woods to Keswick (45 minutes) good torch required for return journey 😃

Have a look at Thornbrook Barn camp site near Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales. Our friends are regulars twice a year. It's dog friendly. The Marton Arms is a good pub within walking distance. Goat Gap Cafe on the A65 is a regular of ours. The Saw Mill Cafe in Clapham is good too. Kirkby Lonsdale with pubs. cafes and shops is nearby. The Punchbowl Inn in Burton in Lonsdale is a short drive, it's a recently opened community owned pub - not doing meals at the moment.

Masons Campsite near Appletreewick, by the River Wharfe is a lovely site, pubs nearby (Craven Arms and New Inn) plus a lovely riverside walk down to Burnsall!

I'm not normally one to complain about prices, but, blimey!

It was cheaper than the one I've ended up booking at Catgill Farm! 🤔..looks nice though..camping prices are a world away from when I started taking family out 25 years ago...but then so are mars bars i suppose 😂

Prices are getting rather high, supply & demand I guess. If you want to go to the nicest areas I'm afraid you have to cough up. Think we'll do a night there midweek & see if we can get on the car park at Skipton first then go to Appletreewick. Having first checked availability. That way we can go to one of our favourite dog friendly restaurants Le Bistro Des Amis in Skipton.
