Not bought the van yet but most likely be a fairly new T28, bulkhead ply lined ply floor.
I'm not going to be taking it to a converter to do all the work (cost) so I need to know in what order
I should get things done. I'm looking at windows all round, Full width bed, carpet/floor lined, small kitchen pod,
and dependent on cost a pop top. I'm not after a full blown camper more a day van with a bed if needed.
Thanks in Advance Belly..

If possible I would buy one without a bulkhead for camper conversion, just makes it easier and I believe it leaves holes in unwanted places.

Im a bit like you. I'm doing as much myself as funds allow. I'm in the preparation phase. I've done all the sound deadening, then the thermal insulation. Carpeted walls and panels. Installed and connected leisure battery. Installed and connected 12V fuse box today. I just need to add a 50A fuse breaker to that, then Ill install the USB sockets in the b pillar trim. Next is the 240V Hook up stuff (when I decide where to put it). Its the preparatory stuff you need to keep an eye on. ;)

Most vans I can afford come with the bulkhead, I believe they're just scrap after removal. I'm sure
the carpet lining will cover most holes..

Sell the bulkhead on eBay. Sold my last two this way. Just removing the bulkhead won’t leave holes. Just some screw holes and you’ll have a bit of angle grinding to do.

In this order - Pop Top - Windows - Sound Deadening - Insulation - Electrical Wiring - Wall Panelling - Wall Carpetting - Floor Sound Proofing - Ply Floor - Finished Floor - Electrics - Furniture - RIB

Only thing I would say is have a think about your electrics early on as you may need to pre-run cables behind the wall panelling etc and have some exit and entry points for them before you carpet. Also if you are getting a pop top do that first.

Theres loads of build threads on this site which show the normal order of things from panel van to camper
