Hi all, we are a family of 3, new to camping and looking to buy a t6 but have no idea where to start. Having looked at 2 so far the difference was startling in quality but both were for sale at 40k. It looks like a right minefield out there. Any pointers appreciated. 40k budget tyty

Research, research and more research, that's where to start.
It's such a big financial commitment that every hour spent finding out as much as you can is an hour well spent.
Try to make the big decisions first, such as long wheel base or short wheel base, tailgate or barn doors, single sliding door or double sliders, as these things are hard / impossible to change later. Forget about things like wheels and suspension at this stage, all that can be changed later if you decide to.
It is a minefield, but you should try to see as many as you can too, that will help you make decisions. There are some very overpriced T6's out there right now in this overheated market. Good luck!

Prices are stupidly high currently. If you can wait until autumn kicks in properly, then they should drop. In the meantime, as mentioned above, do loads of research, and speak to some dealers/converters.

Try and get to Busfest 10-12 Sept 2021 if you can. So much inspiration there and a great day out anyway.

This looks great. Is it a stay over, ie will the kids be bored. Do people camp overnight or just generally day visit tyty

@Clarkatroid the kids definitely wouldn’t be bored. You can just go as day visitor or camp for the weekend. Tickets are in demand so try and book ASAP. Sometimes people are selling their tickets on this forum if they can’t go so keep a look out.

Have you considereed renting a van or two ? We did and were able to very quickly narrow down our choices in respect of configuration and design. There are lots of hire companies out there and you would only need to rent for a short period to inform your opinions! The first van we hired told us an awful lot about what we did not like!
Good Luck!
