One of the ball head screws has snapped leaving most of the threaded part still screwed in.

Best way to get it out?

I have replacement ball head screws for when I do get the broken bit out.

Super glue on end of a new one, screw it in, wait a few secs then screw it out and hopefully the snapped bit will have bonded and come out with it?

Ball stud part no: WHT006579

Drill out and use a stud remover
Drill out and retap with a smaller screw, superglue and then unscrew?

Easy outs / screw extractors are risky - they often snap leaving an extra hard bit of metal in the bolt you are trying to remove!

Did it shear off in use or trying to remove it? Have you checked whether you can turn it?

If tight I’d centre punch it and drill it starting off small say 3mm and work up the sizes. If it is an M8 then 17/64 is the optimum size. Hopefully a bit of drill heat and the drill bit snagging will unscrew it.

Good luck

That’s the one.

They are hard plastic.
Sheered off when removing the rear light.

Sheered off at the red line, leaving most of the screw shaft in place.
