Brake Lights Gone

Found out this afternoon, i have no brake lights at all. Took it to Halfords auto centre because it was just up the road from where i was working. They checked the bulbs, all good. Fuse, all good, and switch all good.
Rang up vw to book in under warranty, nearest available date 1/11/18. After going Flippy on the guy on the phone, he told me best way was to get out road side assistance and if he couldn't fix it then they are obliged by vw to inspect it within 48 hrs. Now i can just about handle this, but was just wondering if this brake light issue has happened to any one else and what the problem was.

Just realised i have put this in the wrong forum sorry.

Is it just brake lights or other lights too?

Fuses are:

SB16 - 5A Brake light switch

VW T6 Fusebox - Fusebox/Fuse Chart SB - Engine Fusebox

BCM: for light outputs

SC3 - Fuse 3 on fuse holder C
SC5 - Fuse 5 on fuse holder C
SC41 - Fuse 41 on fuse holder C
SC47 - Fuse 47 on fuse holder C

No, just the brake lights Dell. Every thing i'm looking at is leading to the fuses as well, useful on the out put holders thank you.

Got vw roadside assistance coming out in the morning. Was told by Halfords auto centre it wasn't the fuses or switch but can't think of anything else. Ill post what the outcome was tomorrow.

Keep us posted....

The brake switch is linked to the BCM.

The BCM feeds the switched live to the bulbs.

The BCM has numerous input fuses that deal with various function.

So I'm assuming one of the BCM input fuses that deals with the stop lights has blown.

But the real question is WHY? Fuses don't blow for no reason.

Yeah thats my line of thought about a fuse blowing. Its the underlying reason behind it.Hopefully the vw road side assistance will shed some light on it. But even so i will use the info you have passed on and trace it through as well. Thanks Dell

Knew i wouldn't be able to leave this alone once i got some info from Dellmassive. Had a quick look on you tube how to get to a bcm on a t6. Armed my self with some t fixings trim tools and son with a couple torches. Got to the bcm disconnected the fuses and re-connected. Brake lights now working. I'm still going to let the vw assistance come out tomorrow and left it all hanging there for him to check out. Pretty pleased with myself considering this is way past my pay grade. Big thanks to Dellmassive for passing on this info. Didn't know what a bcm was until tonight. Obvious thoughts are why did it happen, so that will be my first question tomorrow.

Vw road side assistance have been this morning. Don't think he was too impressed with the trim missing and bcm exposed. Give him his due he was pretty good. He went through a diagnostics check, checked power going to the right places etc. Checked fuses.
Because it is all working now as he said it may have reset itself, but was at a loss to why the brake lights weren't working originally. His thought is a faulty switch so he has recorded that so when it goes in they will change it on warranty. Just hope it stays working till then.

Great news . . . . .Glad we could help out . . . .

And well done for "Giving it a Go" -- Big pat on the Back for you sir !
