Boing

Driving along today, slowing for big puddles, and on a non flooded stretch, there was a very loud “boing”, just once, sounded like in the front, but runs and sounds ok, no lights on, smells, nor steering issues.
Any clues anyone, please?

I had a weird 'ping' once when one of my front mud flaps popped out of its sill locating hole. Checked when I got back home and just shoved it back in to the sill till it 'locked' back in again?
Might be nothing like your noise but it was unusual and loud at the time.

If it's what I used to get, it's the front spring catching on some metal plate - Mine stopped doing it after a couple of years.

Check to see if a coil spring has snapped

Had this recently on the car and it was a snapped spring. Try turning it full lock left to right when stationary, mine did a big clang when I did this.

Thanks for all of the ideas. Steering and suspension unaffected, no noises since. It’s a T6 mystery!
