Bluetooth dongle to monitor DPF

Can anyone recommend a Bluetooth dongle to monitor what's going on with the DPF? Not bothered about any other fancy functions or a subscription. Going to run the VAG DPF app constantly so I know when the van is doing a regen so I don’t interrupt it. Hopefully can also connect to Head unit with android auto so don't have to have the phone app open. Anyone any advice? Keep things simple im not the best with technology!!

Fitted MS Control yesterday, did 550 miles, works perfectly.

In this case do not buy anything.
Have a read below.
Check your idle rpms when stationary and engine has been warmed up.
Basically normal engine idle rpm is around 820 but during DPF regeneration the idle rpm gets elevated a little bit(say 900-1000).

The confusing thing is that the engine doesn't drop down the idle rpm automatically to the 820 level after completing the regeneration.
You need to tap the accelerator and see whenever rpm remain at elevated level (regeneration is still undergoing) or they drop(regeneration has been completed).

Ms control? Can you elaborate a little please. I don't do tech very well!!

You can find content on the Forum with Search

This seems cheaper, from the link in post #50 but not under MS Control?
20 Euro delivery to UK.

Total 61.46 Euro not inc VAT, inc delivery.

I use Carista EVO dongle and VAG DPF APP.

Works great.

The MS Control unit is stand alone, no phone or app. Just stays plugged into the OBD port.
Can have optional LED on a cable, position where you want.
Beeps and LED flash at start of regen a different signal at end of regen.
Push button at anytime for how many grams of soot accumulated, indicated by number of beeps.

MS Control UK Supplier...

Refreshing - really???? Android or iPhone app? Which dongle? Which engine? Which engine group in the app?
Using a Carista. With the VAGDPF app (on android as there isn't an iPhone version of the app). When connected to the Carista using the VAG DPF app the soot level doesn't change unless you tap 'refresh' its a bit of a pain as the phone also doesn't stay awake.

Edit: I think I have just found a iPhone app:

Although both of these you have to pay for. (£6.59)

And another called DPF Scan for VAG (7 days free trial then £2.99/month).

Pretty sure this still comes from Poland. Anyway there’s no VAT to pay but it takes a while to deliver.

Last year's MS Group dongle didn't work with my DNAA engine (got a refund) - so you need to know your engine.
Unless they have updated it.

There’s a survey / feedback form and a no quibble return / refund.
You enter the engine code during the ordering process so I’m guessing they should highlight if it’s not suitable. They also respond to questions quickly.

Perhaps mine is a different Android app then?
Have you ticked something like "Automatic data connection..." in the Settings?
