Black Devonports with AT tyres?

They are matt black with a small amount of glitter. It’s hard to see in the pictures as depending on lighting they can look grey or black all the picture below are of the same wheels

Just had my Devons Powder coated in satin black and they look the dogs bollocks. I'll post pics tomorrow as was too dark by the time I got them on. BFG Ko2 tyres on as well. Need some advice on whether to paint the BFG logos white or leave them black.

Look forward to pics. Did you put BFG on spare and did it fit in cage?
At £720 for the 4.... I haven't yet! If one of these get punctured then I must have hit a land mine!

I think I know the answer but would the original tyre be useless (4motion) untill I get a like for like size? Or would it be ok for 50 miles or so to nearest garage if it was used in anger?

If I deflated the spare somewhat I imagine it would fit in no prob. I carry a 12v compressor anyway.

Thanks for the info. Look forward to the pics as I intend to get my Devonports powder coated black when I eventually get the van. Had BFGs in my last vehicle- a Defender- did 40000 miles on them and I reckon I could have done the same again no problem. Mine already had white lettering so may have been a different type of BFG

Now I might be bias but to me that's borderline pornographic!

Just did a 100 mile trip, 31.5 mpg. Did the exact same trip last week and was 33.5 mpg so to me that's negligible. I've put 44psi all round.

Speedo now reads bang on. Was about 4mph off before and upset me greatly haha.

Feels a lot smoother over the damaged roads! Before I would be dodging everything, not so worried now.

Ride height has increased and I like that to be honest. Can say handling has slightly changed as you would expect from a height increase. Still feels firm on the road though.

Can definitely hear them but is not bad. I had AT3 grabbers on my amarok and sounds the same. The front seem silent, can just hear them through the back and I don't have any seats in just now so probably doesn't help.

Overall..... Delighted, can't wait to be hit by a freak snowstorm and plow past all the BMW drivers (no offence, used to be one)

What's the thoughs on white letters?? Leave as is or paint them?? I have the paint ready to go....

They look fantastic to me - leave the paint where it is!

They look fantastic. Just the look I want when The van eventually arrives. Can you tell me the size of the tyres please and has your van been lowered at all . Thanks

225 65 R17 fits like a glove and no rubbing. About 4.8% larger. Completely standard.

Is it possible to buy black Davenport wheels new, or are they produced silver and they need painting/powder coating?

I think they only come in silver and you need to get them powder coated black. Been quoted £360 for the job. Still thinking about it.

Thinking about putting BFG tyres on my devonports but I am wondering why you went for that size of tyre. I’ve been told that the 245 size will fit the van (standard suspension) and they have the white lettering on the sides. Maybe I’m missing something?

Devonports are 7" wide so max tyre width for them is 225mm. I've seen BFG 225/65R17 on black (aftermarket powder coated) Devonports. Photo attached (not my van!)
