Black detailing

I like the looks of my Mojave Beige Vel Exec, but the rear is, well just lacking.
Wondering wether to detail the rear number plate indent in black, plus the wing mirrors, plus the roof.
Any body think it could be done in black vinyl?, or would it need to be sprayed black?
Would it be a gloss/satin/matt finish to look the best?
Don't think I need the black stripes, as I have a standard chrome strip.

Those parts could be wrapped very easily, just remember that having a black roof will make it hotter in the summer (I made that mistake)

The Vel has lots of insulation so hopefully should be OK
Do you think the a vinyl wrap finish would look as good as paint?, it would certainly be a lot easier.

Yes, depending on what brand material is used. I use either Avery or 3m as they have the best finishes and adhesives. You do have to remember that a wrap is not a permanent finish, and is designed to come of at around five years leaving very little adhesive if any. This is sometimes a better solution if you plan to sell the vehicle on at some point as it may not be to the taste of the new owner. After that it is a lot more of a pain, especially if you have carbon fibre effect.

Is this the kind of work you do?
Where are you based?

Hi @Rslad, mine has a chrome strip on all 4 sides at low level, could that also be vinyl wrapped in say a gun metal grey colour?

It's double sided tape, so to remove it, would trash it.

I think clever use of vinyl could achieve a really cool look imo. A new landrover discovery & discovery sport came up in my mail box, and I keep looking at it, thinking my Vel could look better.

That's lovely, I would love a velle but not sure it would get used enough
No you really have to have a need for what is a pretty specialised vehicle. Had the last one for 12 years, and we looked at all other possibilities; but once you've had a Vel, any thing else seems like second best imo.

Really like that white one, given me more ideas for mine. It's also got very similar rims on it to the one's I want so gives a good impression of what it could like.

You can't, it's my picture, I found it first; it's so unfair:cry::devil::cry:

I've been thinking about the same detail for a while. This van has tinted rear lights as well.
