Big factory brakes

Hi again guys I am looking at changing my standard factory front brakes from my t32 sportline for some updated 365/375 mm type. The originals are I believe the big factory calipers but the discs are cross drilled and grooved brembos pads are standard Brembo type they stop very well ( I think) they have only done 2000 thousand miles or so all in good working order I am only changing them for the looks. If anyone is interested let me know . BTW my wheels are 20 inch the original factory wheels where 18 inch and fitted snuggly over the 18 inch wheels .IMG_2363.webpIMG_2364.webp

Everything you need bar the back plates- you re-use your old ones. They are delivery mileage

Hello all,
I’ve recently fitted a pair of Leighton Vans EBC big brake kits to my T6 and quickly realised my 17” steel spare is no longer any good to me.
The fellas at Leighton sounded surprised at my question “what do you do for a spare?” and basically said buy a 20” alloy and chuck it in the back.
Has anyone figured out a work around?
I’m thinking a BMW X5 space saver? Shares the same 5x 120 PCD

@Pommie Dave If you have a front puncture, put a rear wheel on the front and the spare on the rear. (assuming you don't have rear wheels that are too wide for the front.) Or, carry a can of goo and a 12v pump. If that fails, call the AA.

Thanks dubber. I’d had to go for your 2nd suggestion because I have 10” on the rear and would need 2 jacks. Not sure what the AA would say if they turned up and I had no spare 🤔 Even if I was a member 😂.
I’m liking the space saver idea so I’ll continue to investigate that for now.
Out of a 1000 kits that Leighton claim to have sold I’m sceptical when they say they haven’t thought about this. Both here in Australia and the UK. Surely I’m not the first punter who doesn’t fancy a wheel floating around in the back?

I have no spare on my BMW. Shortly after having it I had a tyre go down. I was only 15 miles from home, so being a runflat I thought I could nurse it back. Not so, it ripped itself apart after about 5. Anyway, the AA came out with a universal spare. Not being too far from home, he followed be back and then swapped his wheel back for my ruined one and off he went.

If the patient is miles from home, they will do the same and escort them to a tyre place that has a suitable replacement tyre.

Got lucky today lads. A lady selling an unused 18” space saver from her 2016 Holden Commodore wagon on Facebook Marketplace. At $60 (£30) I thought it worth a go. The PCD was the same but I didn’t know if an 18” would miss the massive EBC brake calipers. Leighton couldn’t advise obviously.
It fitted with mm’s to spare, all it needs I guess. What a bargain!
I had seriously entertained the idea of buying a 20” allloy to match what I’m running at $700 + $300 for a tyre and having it stowed in the back but thought there’s gotta be a better/cheaper way.
Only problem I have now is the space saver is so much slimmer than the standard steel it doesn’t squash up against the underside of my van when it’s fully secured in its carrier but looking at it there appears to be a work around by removing the 45mm spacers on the bolts and 2 heights on the hinge? This should do it.
I knew there’d be a way.. 🤗
