What's best sound insulation, want to reduce road noise in my Kombi,

Have a search on ‘sound deadening’, plenty to read, depends on how much work you want to do.
External wheel arches, scuttle and cab doors are small areas which make a big difference.

Brilliant thanks for the advice and links, 1st attempt so trying the dodo matting,

I had the noise issue in my VW Komb, I have purchased soundproof matting from Amazon, expensive but excellent. I removed the rear wheel arch liners and soundproofed the rear arches with Dodo mat before replacing the liner. The road noise has been reduced and is alot nicer to travel in.
