Benidorm or bust

I stuck mine done direct onto roof 3 years ago and have been in temps around 43C here in spain and its stuck fine. Granted it will be a pain in the ass to replace as and when needed, but can be done.

Enough now as do not want to hijack Rioja John thread. Just enjoy your holiday and if you need to contact me for places to recommend replacement panel feel free.

No.
This was it before it took a flying leap.

Oh no, how horrible. Can you order another from Renogy to replace it? Another option could be to buy a folding suitcase panel. My panel failed this summer and so used a 100w Renogy suitcase (the suitcase not the cheap heavy folding panel they do) as a temporary fix. Worked really well & will keep in van in pop top for future use in addition to roof panel.

As i am about to replace mine and had your twinwall method bookmarked to copy. Do you mind if I ask did you just use the plastic bolts through the twin wall & panel or did you use additional adhesive between twin wall & panel? Thanks.

Hope getting it sorted is relatively painless!

Just sikaflex to the roof … it’s forever going to have a panel on it … his method was seriously flawed

I drilled twin wall and sikaflexed the plastic bolts underneath the twin wall, but the solar panel just ripped the plastic bolts straight out. I had driven approx 3000 miles with it until this happened.

Thankyou! Hope you get it sorted without too much hassle

So far on this trip what’s happened is unbelievable.
1st I threw my denture out with the rubbish somewhere in France.
2nd Solar panel decides to abscond.
3rd Diesel heater decides it’s had enough just blows loads of smoke and backfiring through exhaust.
4th Phone stollen.
5th couldn’t find fire stick or echo dot speaker so ordered new off Spanish Amazon all films in German some you can change to English in menu and new micro dot only speaks Spanish.

My son in law as asked if we’re making a new carry on film called Carry on Benidorm.😂
We’ve travelled to Benidorm upteen times in the past and never ever have had things go wrong like this trip.
🤞👍🍺

Gutted for you. Was your phone stolen by someone asking for directions for somewhere and then asking you to get maps up on your phone. And then walks off and then his brother stops you and asks if you have seen him and asks the same, then grabs phone and jumps in car or runs away.

Exactly that.

@Rioja John. Keep smiling mate - it's all on the up from now on. The next time somebody asks you to show them something on your phone, say 'no but I'll show it on yours'. Even better, say you don't own a phone and they will think you're a weirdo and run a mile.

I use a motorhome forum also and there was a guy on there in Benidorm last week who it happened to, that’s why I said that. Hope you get sorted and not any value stuff on the phone they can access.

Edit
Sorry John just relized it was you who posted on the motorhome forum but your name was differant.

This is doing the rounds on various fora and FB pages. Be careful out there.

Isn’t called the Costa del Crime for nothing, I’ve seen coke dealers openly doing business in front of the Guardia, everybody is getting a cut.
