Battery post loose

Hi, replaced my AGM battery with a Lithium one and the negative battery clamp didn’t want to tighten down on the post. The positive tightened properly but the negative one getting riding up the post as I tried to tighten it. It seems ok at the moment, I just tightened it enough so it couldn’t be pulled off but I’m not confident with it.

It’s under the passenger seat and we have a seat swivel so it’s not easy to access to check it.

Anyone else had an issue like this and if so how did you fix it?

I did add some covers just in case one of the terminals pops off so it doesn’t short out on the seat swivel base

Standard battery terminal are smaller for negative ( 17.5mm compared to 19.5 mm for positive)

what did you have fitted previously? are you sure it had standard terminals?

My AGM battery didnt have posts, they had screws that you could tighten down the copper tube lugs with. This new Lithium battery has standard battery posts so I brought the clamps as a positive / neg pair. They are marked so I don’t think I got them the wrong way round.

That's unusual to have battery posts on a lithium.

Normally they have M8 bolt downs.

I'll have to look that battery up.

The battery has only recently been released, it’s designed for low fitments and uses the same housing as some of the AGM’s. I’m totally sold on Lithium though

It doesn’t have Bluetooth but I’m ok with that, I get the info I want from the Victron kit.

@Sim60 I replaced the negative clamp with a new one from 12vplanet. It’s the same dimension but for some reason just clamps better. No idea what the issue was with the other one!
