Any VW detectives out there?

Calling all VW detectives.
I'm due to collect my VW 6.1 Kombi next Monday.
Just been told by Slidepods it drives sluggishly and they found a long list of fault codes, though they ca't tell me what fault codes...
It's going to see an auto electrician near Slidepods tomorrow am but I'm wondering if any of the following are known causes:

Leighton Vans say it left with no faults after they fitted:
- tow bar
- virtual dash
- leather seats
- wheels
- B14 Komfort
But they acknowledge it was always very low on fuel as we had the fuel crisis.

Slidepods say they haven't done anything to generate error codes but they have done:
- pop top
- Caravelle seats
- stereo upgrade
- dashcam
- electrics in van
- inverter and solar panel

I know the actual codes would help and I hope to get them tomorrow but could any of the above cause the problem in anyone's experience and can all be cleared by an auto diagnostic specialist or will it need a visit to a VW dealer ;(

Pop top will add a whack of weight and make the van sag a bit.

It probably just needs a good drive to charge the battery fully and allow the sensors to sort themselves out, things like this seem fairly common on 6.1's that have had extensive electrical work carried out.

what sensors do you suggest need to sort them selves out?

Perhaps similar to these...

I now have a list of fault codes from 4th October when Slidepods started work.
im getting pretty fed up as there aalso as of yesterday (still no report) I’ve been told by the diagnostic guy that there are a ton or fault codes some serious that only a VW dealer can fix such as dashboard incorrect coding (digital dash change no doubt), TPMS (from wheel change), air bag warning lights, seat belt warning pings don’t work etc.

I’ve said to both Slidepods and Leighton Vans and said they get together and sort out any issues, get a clean bill of health from a local VW dealer before I take it away and pay the bill but it’s annoying as I’m died to collect it Monday from France and drive back to France. I wish this had been all checked as I asked in the last 8 weeks the van ans been at Leighton Vans then Slidepods.

Any suggestions on anything else I can do really appreciated.

Pic of fault codes attached.

The stereo upgrade may put up some errors as I have them in mine but ignore them as I have an after market HU.

I’m no expert but reading through the list of faults most would probably be linked to the virtual cockpit.
The TPMS could be that the wheel valves are either not correctly coded in the new wheels or are missing?
Hope you get it sorted

Thanks, Paul.
I thought that too.
The issue for me is how to get the issues resolved in time now.
I see:
Virtual cockpit
Wheel change
Seats
Airbag fault

I don’t know if it all needs a main dealer now since the converters have messed the systems up so badly.
Note this is the old report from Oct 4th. New report (won’t give it to me) apparently has a whole load more issues from the work since done by a Slidepods.

Most of them look related, Vans will pass faults across modules so often 1 issue can appear in several places
My guess would be it’s as simple as the cluster not being programmed correctly for a vehicle with direct TPMS, they normally come with indirect so could just be a simple mistake in the coding or similar, I don’t see anything there that looks too serious

Thanks Pauly. My challenge is the state of the van now. As mentioned above, this is the report done on Oct 4th by
Slidepods when they received the van from Leighton Vans.
So without doubt, Leighton Vans caused all those founts.
Since then it’s been a month at Slidepods and has a whole load of new faults. They won’t give me that report but the diagnostics guy told me it’s everything from airbags to sears to lights to speakers. Ie. All the work Slidepods have done.
I just don’t get how two well regarded doc eaters can cause so many faults.
I’m buying a new vehicle and driving it to France on Monday but clearly not with all those problems. Hence I’m feeling my only reassurance is a VW check.
Lost worrying is Slidepods had the report side Oct 4th knowing full well there were the issues in the report I’ve shared and did nothing. Now 4 weeks later the problems are compounded and I’m running out of time. Not impressed at all.

Anything that has been disconnected will show a fault, a full reset will clear any faults that are no longer present, I guess the question is if the faults are reappearing after a reset ?

They are both well known companies so I imagine they will get it sorted for you, as always timescales seem to be the tricky bit

Yes I think you’re right but not all will reset according to the guy doing the diagnostics near Slidepod. He is worried about the virtual dash and the airbag faults which he says need main dealer work, hence my concern as it only leaves tomorrow to get it booked in. All could have been sorted if it wasn’t ignored for 4 weeks hence my frustration.

Thanks for all the help and advice. Leighton Vans are being very helpful and professional trying to reolve the matter as is Olly at Van Haven who has no commerciasl interest in this but has been really kind with advice. Sadly, Slidepods are compounding the issues by being really unhelpful which is causing huge frustration to everyone concerned as they have the van. It seems it's all everyone else's fault and they have done me a huge favour doing the work they have done. They didn't share the fault report from Oct 4th with Leighton Vans because it was done to protect them and wasn't their job to tell anyone else. Nice. Leighton Vans are delighted at being told 4 weeks later with no proper time to fix. Dear oh dear.....

Hi Pauly, as mentioned on my other posts, I’ve now got the van and did a 1,000 km drive back to France in it. Lovely drive on the 20in wheels with Bilstein B14 Komfort coil overs, albeit lots of wind noise and very thirsty (21mpg).
Their remains the list of 25 or so items to fix and Leighton are being very helpful.
I’m surprised overall at how many mistakes were made but maybe that‘s normal for van conversions as I have a high spec.
Maim gripes are ride height set so low the tyres rub on road dips and the loss of TPMS and other safety features because of the 20in wheels. Rest are electrical faults, error codes, missing items, items fitted incorrectly etc.
Will send full set of pics soon. One or two for now.

Regarding the ride height, surely you told Leighton Vans what you wanted?

Can’t have the looks and practicality , will
Always be a compromise somewhere

Good luck getting the issues sorted tho
