Alternator Voltage

I plan to fit a DC to DC smart charger (Redarc Brand) to my Multivan (T6 Highline) which boosts the voltage counteracting the loss between the main battery/alternator and the auxiliary batteries in the rear of the cargo area, near my refrigerator and 2 way radios.

These come in 2 types, the old type which is for fixed voltage alternators, i.e. 13.8v or low voltage which is suitable for variable voltage alternators fitted to some modern vehicles.

The question is what type is my multivan? (fixed or variable voltage)

The current model Amarok is the fixed voltage type so I'm guessing they may use the same type on the T6, but I'm open to any other information received.

If it's a Euro 6 engine it should be a 'smart' alternator - variable voltage. I've seen the CTek 250 recommended and that's probably what I'll be fitting soon.
Not sure what the Euro 5 engines have.
