Alpine X801D-U

So after having two of the new Kenwood DNX516DABS die on me within two months I've rejected the unit with my Conversion company who are happy to replace it with the Alpine X801D-U as they have an account with Alpine and have had other Kenwood units fail.

Has anyone got any experience with the Alpine X801D-U? If so what do you think of it and does it work fully with the MFD, MFSW, parking sensors and factory reverse camera?

I know the Pioneer AVIC F88dab comes highly recommended which they maybe able to get but I would prefer to go with something that my conversion company should be familiar with.

Works with the mfd but you need the kit801t5. It doesn't show sat nav directions on the mfd however. Reverse sensors work on the display but I'm not sure on the camera. I have the alpine camera fitted.
It's a great unit however dab is being very temperamental. Sometimes it works sometimes it won't. Alpine want to have the unit to take a look however I'll be without music or satnav for a week or 2.

No cd drive unless you use the standalone dvd unit. I grounded the handbrake wire on the unit to watch videos whilst moving. The unit is quick but it's not smart phone responsive.

Another thing with the kit801t5 it leave a cd sized slot gap at the bottom as its a t5 kit not a t6 kit but you cant really tell if you dont kjow its there and the dashboard inside need cutting to fit.

Coincidentally I have the Pioneer AVICF88 dab in our new Suzuki, it's very good, easy to use and responsive

Connectivity the Pioneer is miles superior, has apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, twin USB etc plus a great capacitive screen, and much more modern intuitive interface

I played around with the settings at the weekend and the amount of detail in things like sat nav options alone is just staggering!
Used the voice activation this week and it just works perfectly.
