I have bought a set of sport line alloy wheels which have a couple of marks and a couple of scratches. I would like to get them restored to totally mint condition. What are paint repairs like? Worth looking into or would I be looking at full repaints? Any recommendations for good people / companies ?

Depends on the nature and extent of the damage as to whether the need a full refurbishment or a SMART repair.
I can recommend this chap, did an invisible repair to the finish on one of my C70 alloys after some tyre CHIMP damaged it. Depending on which side of the county youre at its not much of a drive...

Are they diamond cut? If yes I would just get them powdercoated one colour.

A picture would be better. Mine are gloss black with Sportline in white lettering on one side and Made in Italy on the opposite side.

If it’s just the black and not that bad maybe a bit of black hammerite should suffice!
