Not sure if that's a good thing or not! They're the Comforser Cf1100. They're about half the price of a KO2, £110 for a 225/65R17 Vs £220 for a KO2 of the same size. Speed and load rated too, 102T for the 225/65.

You're quite right. Perhaps ~60 mph average could improve things. Those with manual gearboxes might also be able to get even better results.
Well I sit at 65 when on the motorway, 5 speed manual, currently driving from Lancashire to great yarmouth twice a week (300miles) and using 1/3 of tank.
With half a house in ours when on trips, we've got to be lucky to go over 30mpg...
