Hi All
I've bought a T6 SWB 32 Highline VAN in GREY, going from an electric car :O

New here, Im wanting to line it and make it more homely before converting to something more sleepable - is there anything I should avoid from the get go?

I understand the DVLA are abit of a nightmare for accepting the conversions (ever since 2019?) is that still something ongoing?

Cant wait to get going!

Welcome to the forum your a long way from the conversion yet to whether you have it moved over to a Camper

1st thing for Homely you need to think is what you will use it for, you might only need a day van and a power pack what you would like in it and plan your budget and triple it to start with lol ........ does it have windows

you say a van think we need a pic to see what you got... but welcome ...

Its literally a panel van, no windows, no nothing, few years old - total blank canvas!
Going to use it for weekends and possible longer trips.

Not sure how I'll balance it being a van and a camper or if its possible to have both.

At the moment, im wanting it carpetted (everywhere) then have something modular where I can put in seats / bed etc.

If you want to be able to swap between a van and camper then its would be worth considering a 'pod' kitchen solution which you can put in and out to suit rather than a full conversion with fitted furniture. This would give you maximum flexibility for when you want it empty for 'van mode' and 'camper mode'

depending how much space you need in van mode you could go for slim fitted furniture and a sliding/ rail bed which would give you plenty of rear load space.

Definitely worth checking out the build threads of the forum for some good inspiration

i built a stealth camper.... a dirty weekender i like to call it lol better than a calling it a day van it has a bed and storage cabinets fully lined heavily insulated swivle seat.. i went with ply Van furniture Van Furniture i didn't want widows.. and needed long storage for fishing rods. have a look in here at some of the builds... there's a wealth of knowledge in here and everyone will help and advise

That sounds awesome
I've had cars for YEARS but never a van so getting used to having a van etc

Im so naive when it comes to this but im dreaming big. A dirty weekender would do me :D
