Advice And Opinions Please

I'm looking at prices for a new pop top roof.

I know there are a number of threads on the subject, but I'm worried about the colour aspect.

My van is Indium Grey, so the roof would have to be painted.
Is this wise, with regards to longevity, chips, possible crazing of the paint due to the roof flexing, or am I being paranoid?

I was thinking of having the roof black, as this is already an option at the gel coat stage, but not sure how it would look, with the Indium Grey.

Does anyone have a black roof on an Indium Grey van and if so, could you post some pictures please?

Thanks again

I personally cannot comment on camper roofs, because mine isn't a camper, but I do work within an industry that deals with fibreglasses and painted surfaces, and you shouldn't have any issues with a painted fibreglass roof if it's painted correctly, maintained with a protection in the form of a sealant or wax (something many people don't do) and you don't have any areas under undue stress.

As for Blackberry with a Black roof, I think that would look pretty cool, with corresponding Black wheels, and Gloss Black detailing.

My camper is Bamboo Green and the fibre glass pop up roof is painted to match.
No problems whatsoever - the supplier did say to make sure it was polished twice a year.

Same here Starlight Blue with matching metallic painted roof done by a pro spray shop who knew how to prep and paint it. Was not cheap £500!

Has had two wax coatings in last 12 months and it's still as new.
