Just a query for anyone who has deleted adblue. Does it still register on the mfd (zero miles, not there any longer etc)?

Hi there. Did you manage to get a definitive answer on this this thread. I bought my t6 a few months ago now and the adblue range hasn't dropped to my knowledge. I do have the range showing on my mfd though and it shows 3500 miles remaining with a min top up of 1 gal and a max top up of 1.25 gal.

Thanks. Ill keep an eye on it compared to milage im doing. This is my first vw transporter. Its a steep learning curve.

So if it's coded out, don't you need to put adblue in it ever again? This is my first adblue vehicle, said 9,500 miles when I got it with 100 miles on, now it says 10,000 miles with 1000 miles on ...

Perhaps someone ragged it during that first 100 miles?

Seriously though, the rate of ad blue consumption will vary with driving style and driving conditions, and the estimate of remaining ad blue range can and does vary accordingly.

Yeah not worried about the 100 miles thing, more interested in what coding it out involves.

Not all vehicles react the same way. A VW T6, for example, is more sensitive than a conventional utility vehicle. A very complete deactivation is required.

It is possible to stop adblue with VCDS, but to getting it properly mapped out completely removes any MFD info about it.

Do you have any more information about stopping it with VCDS? As AdBlue has a shelf life, my worry is that it will go off in the tank if left and cause issues if it was ever switched back on?

Is there much of a benefit from deleting the AdBlue, apart from the cost and hassle of topping it up?

I had mine coded out, but only because I had a fault on mine and I was facing a total replacement cost. I was also getting mine remapped so I had it done at the same time. The mapper said adblue delete had no other benefit.

Thanks, so basically might as well keep it if/until causing problems

Yeah I had my work van (Crafter) AdBlue mapped out when it shit the bed.
If it works leave it be, I was advised to also have some AdBlue in the tank in case Vosa decide to dip them.
