Review: AbsoluT5 Audio

All great sounding system do not run rears or at most just a small set running bandpass, so they do not ruin the front setup,

Your ears are designed to primarily listen to the front , and music is recorded that way.

If you really want to amp a set of rears then drop in a xd700/5 JL amp and a set of 2nway Hertz and cut of the lower end using the crossover

Just because they have loads of good reviews on here and Facebook already, it would be remiss of me not to add another after such a good result and experience with them.

I had the @Absolut5 full 'Signature' sound system upgrade. How can you quantify the quality of the sound in a review ... tricky. I am very impressed and couldn't be happier for the money this system costs. By way of some attempt at comparison, I have had Linn, Meridian, Bose and B&O as manufacturer sound system upgrades in my cars at 3 to 4 x the price of this system and they were no better IMO ! It's that good. .... and it's so nice, with the cabin sound insulation and component mounting system they use, gone are those annoying Bass buzzes in the door panel of the standard Noddy system.

So, why did I choose Absolut5 :

1. The team there have over 40 years of combined experience in automotive audio,
2. They specialise in Transporter audio upgrade systems and have done so for 10 years,
3. They have developed, evolved and perfected their Transporter 'Signature' sound system, it's components and method of install over the last 9 years.

Personally, I think those 3 fundamental parameters are unbeatable by anyone else. Hence their position in the UK market in this respect I guess.

On top of those 'technical' qualifications, the care taken during install is beyond outstanding. They are also known for this. I am well known for my OCD as well and there wasn't even a fingerprint ANYWHERE. No dust, no wiring offcuts, nothing. It was totally immaculate and we all know those 'Comfort Dash's' can get marked just by looking at them :D

I brought my new Dash Cam along (with hard wiring kit) and they put that in as well. No issues. Works a treat. I also had some Caravelle A-Pillar trims fitted which are finished much more nicely (than standard Highline) in material and with nice stainless Tweeter covers, which IMO lift the cabin 'look' to a higher level in conjunction with the Comfort Dash. I also like it as a visual reminder you've had an Audio upgrade

Pictures attached are, Amplifier under drivers seat, Sub under passenger seat, Sub control on dash and the Caravelle A-pillars (would've liked to show pics of all the speaker upgrades as well but obviously all tucked away) :

Your van is a testament to your hard work/love and appreciation of nice things in life

Glad you love the sound/quality of the install and the those tweeter panels really make it look great ..

I’d just like to say a big thank you to Jason @Absolut5 for supplying me with his signature audio set up

As I’m quite a distance away I decided to order the set up and install it myself. Which I must admit gave me a few sleepless nights Thinking about it while I waited for the goods to arrive as I’ve never attempted an audio set up before.
Jason did warn me the process is quite involved. However thanks to the instructions supplied and the fact Jason was on hand to get me through any problems I completed the install. The kit supplied came with all cables labelled with what they are for, he kindly preset the amp and left the instruction book open on the page with the wiring diagram to follow. Even the bag of crimp terminals was exactly the amount needed so took away any guessing what should go where.
It took me 3 days on and off to fit and the whole time all I could think about was the moment I could first power it up. That moment arrived and WOW!! Absolutely fantastic. Over the moon with it. Brings a smile to my face every time I get in the van.
If anybody out there is thinking about an audio upgrade no need to look around scratching your head. Speak to Jason. He will sort you out. You will not be disappointed. Simple

..in case you are thinking of changing the audio head unit in a VW T6 I can highly recommend Absolut5 - absolute new | VW T5/T6 Specialists
They supplied me with the new harness and usb retention kit and facia and the advice on how to fit them.
Dont waste time looking anywhere else, their products are spot on ! ;-)

Really appreciate it guys

Just wanted to say a big thankyou to Jason at Absolute5 for such an amazing job fitting his signature sound system to my Kombi. I must say I was a little worried about having a brand new 4 week old van stripped down for the install. His quality of work amazing and the sound system takes my breath away. Anyone who is considering this being done just do it!

That's whats scares me, the thought of having a new van stripped apart but guess these guys know what they are doing inside out

I know what you are saying but these guys are pro’s. I would be way more worried about having a basic service at Vw. . If you like music go for it. If you don’t like music do it anyway because you will like it after the

You are right, in the 3 VW vans I've had I've dreaded it going in for dealer servicing, they come across as they are doing you a massive favour and forget that these vehicles are just as precious to us as our cars

I've always romanced about having a good sound sysytem fitted but never carried it off, albeit I had an Alpine headunit fitted to a Ford work van back in the 90's, it was a transformation but stopped at going for the speakers as I would have had to leave the speakers in the van, headunit was easier to strip out. Anyway this time round its going to happen, life's too short to keep putting things off

I know how you feel. I got too carried away with my Kombi for a mountain bike van, ordered every option VW do incl Comfort Dash. Then all seats custom full leather, cab alcantara lined, bespoke custom steering wheel etc etc. On top of that, I'm total OCD ... to the extent I even hire a van in winter to go riding to keep mine out of the salt, mud and general winter crap

So, to say I didn't fancy mine being pulled apart either is an under statement but these guys are in a different league. Forget dash scratches, or things not being back exactly how they were. There literally wasn't even a finger print in the suede and even the pile on the factory cab fitted carpet option (which has to come out) looked totally undisturbed when I put the protective mats back over it !!!

I'd definitely go nowhere near a VW main dealer either and haven't been since it was delivered. I literally only let 2 people go anywhere near my van. It's @BognorMotors and these guys @Absolut5

You'll be all good for sure :thumbsup:. Here's my review of the Signature System from earlier in this thread if you didn't see it ::

Thanks Shredder that’s very satisfying to hear. I will be doing a few things, not quite sure as yet but have full condition either of these guys

Now to find somewhere equally attentive for future servicing

I'm the same as Shredder, total van nerd and hate any kind of mess, finger prints etc.

I had a tricky install as my Webasto heater pipework and leisure battery were taking up space where the sub and amp usually go, but it was all swapped over from passenger to drivers seat and not a spec of dust left anywhere afterwards.
