A Fiamma Sail of Woe...

Hi all.
Just wanted to share my schoolboy error yesterday...
Took the van out to Delamere Forest for a trip out and set up the Fiamma awning. A few brews later decided to take the dogs for a walk and as the sun was out regrettably decided not to wind the awning back in.
Anyway, when we got back, the wind had got up an and the awning had decided to turn itself in to a sail.
It looks to have lifted significantly and bent the brackets as shown in the photos. It also bent the additional Pro beam I bought to give it move strength in windy conditions.
I had a vamoose rail initially on the van and needed these Fiamma brackets to fit the F45S.
No damage to the van thankfully, went back to the place that fitted it and it just the brackets need replacing.

I have the Fiamma tie-down kit and plenty of tent pegs but they were safe and sound in the garage at home(!).

Top tip: Never leave an unsupervised Fiamma F45S.

Will be at Tatton Park tomorrow if anyone wants to come and laugh...

Yep.. the legs were down and I had the pro rafter fitted.
I should have wound it back in before I left it unattended. The hour I was away the wind got up and hence the damage.
All my own fault, not the kit.

Won't be doing that again.
