Hi all,

We have be been avid followers of this forum for quite a while prior to buying and since, we have found so much helpful information, interesting ideas and absolutely stunning T6’s which we aspire to. We would appreciate any help or ideas on the following from all of you fantastic, knowledgable and experienced folk.

Having jet washed our 2016 T32 4 motion (Highlline 140) upon starting and moving the van forward a few meters an hour later ESP and Start Stop faults appeared on the dash mfd with a solid orange ESP light also.

Van starts and drives as normal (albeit no start stop) ABS works (4 motion untested) however on hard launch from standstill there is wheel judder related to front wheel spin, so assume 4 motion is now not working.

Thanks to Dellmassive for his fantastic posts and videos on Carista, we decided to purchase for fault finding and modification reasons and have found the following fault codes as below. Appreciate it’s capabilities may not be to pro equipment levels, but any experience or ideas would be appreciated to avoid the VW dealership if possible.

ABS
Part #: 7E0907379P
Coding: 517E8098256684848A77017EA48821A6390000 (hex)
Component: ESC
Fault codes:
08269 Manufacturer-specific code

Instrument cluster
Part #: 7E0920970L
Coding: 470B010100 (hex)
Component: KOMBI
Fault codes:
12653568 Manufacturer-specific code

CAN network gateway
Part #: 7E0909901
Coding: 042307 (hex)
Component: GW-K-CAN TP20
Fault codes:
01324 Control Module for All Wheel Drive (J492)

All-wheel-drive system
[ECU not present]

We have removed and checked fuses and wheel ABS sensors have been removed and all appear to be ok and undamaged.

Any help / ideas, things to check / recheck please, seriously appreciated.

The AWD-controller (address 22) is offline which would definitely disable the ESP and the 4motion.

The fuse to recheck is SC33 - 10A, middle row, 5th from the top (the top one is SC37).
Next check would be the cable to the AWD-controller (Haldex coupling) under the van (rodent or other damage).

If you think it was caused by power washing then water in a connection would be a likely cause ?
Have the checked the cable connector tor’s at exposed points ?

Yep as above. Possible water ingress to a connector or Plug. Try WD40 or water repellent.

Possible blown fuse, follow advise above locating fuse.

Keep us posted on progress.

After a VW dealer power washed my T6 I got errors with ABS and parking sensors. They went away after it was allowed to fully dry out.

Ok so have spent some time today methodically going back through the system. All fuses rechecked including fuse box in the engine compartment but no issues there, also no sign of water damage to connector plugs to Haldex unit underneath, seal to Haldex Control unit appears undamaged also and loom as far as I can see appears undamaged and ok.

Does anyone have an idea of what the diagnostic ABS code 08269 is, along with instrument cluster 12653568, have tried google on these but no joy.

Any help would be really appreciated.

The top code I can’t find
The middle code = function restriction due to missing message, this is prob caused by the fact your AWD module has gone MIA

There is a communication issue between your van and the AWD control module, this could be caused by a power issue to the module, a wiring issue on the canbus to the module either open or short circuit, this is the fault you need to rectify before worrying about the other codes

Hello,
Did you ever get to the bottom of your problem? I am having the same issues and looking for somewhere to investigate next.
