hi after some advice please, Looking to purchase 20" alloys as 21" just too much money.t32 being lowered approx 50mm on b14 coilovers.Need 103 load rated tyres at least as t32 .so i am ok on 275/40 or will these rub .Also Should I get 8.5 j all round or could I get 10j alloys for better stance. Many thanks ?

Can I suggest you use the search function, this has been discussed many times in different threads, there is some really good info all ready in the forum, and it’ll save folk having to try and write it all down again.

I have spent what seems like forever going through old posts , so many options such a shame you can't get 275/35 tyre in 103 load rating .

It’s all down to the wheel offset. We’ve found the sweet spot wheel offset to be Et40. I personally find the 275/40 look a bit ‘balloonish’. We fit the 265/40 on t32’s, its a more perfect size and looks good.
Thank you for your help ,I shall visit you in future for my b14 installation as we spoke before on phone.Sorry to ask another question the alloys I have chosen are 10x20 et42 all round is this ok with tyres you recommended.

Out of curiousity - why should I prefare 275/40 R20 instead of 255/35 R20?
For T32 it might be because of load rating, but this should not be the case for T28 or T30?

Also If you calculate that standard according to CoC is 215/65 R16 then 255/35 R20 diameter would bejust 1mm different compared to standard. 275/40 would be way off...

Perhaps I'm missing something here?

To be honest, then I am quite confused:
- what I want
- what I need
- what's the best combo/price etc

I do like Inovit Revolve with rear concave solution. For this the right would be 8,5" front and 10" rear; 275/40 R20 tyres rear, but what about front? Would 275 rub in front with -40mm lowering and 8,5" ET35 with 275 tyres in front?
Another option would be 19" x 8,5" and use 255/40 R19 tyres, which is closed to stock diameter. Also load rating for T30 should be OK.

Then again I can have a veryvery good deal on 275/40 R20 MOMO tyres which makes me think this topic.

@BognorMotors pretty much hits the nail on the head. The majority tend to go for 275 section rubber on 20" wheels but you need the 40 aspect ratio on T32s. However 265/40 is available in 104 load rating for T32s too and as a bonus doesn't put your speedo out by so much. With 275/35 tyres speedo is out by approx 2%, 275/40 speedo out by approx 5.5% and 265/40 by approx 4.5%. There is a tyre size/load rating/speedo error guide here Van Adz - Changing Tyre Size if it helps.

Thanks for all your help guys

Good info here lads, cheers. I put 18's on my T6 a few months back, but I think they'll need to be upgraded next year! As mine's a T32 as well I think 265 / 40 is the way I'll go.

Our white kombi on our website in the hire sections is wearing 265's if you want to see them on a van

hi paul just looking at your post what did you decide on the end ?
I purchased a wheel and tyre deal with my kombi from swiss vans was running 20" wolfrace assasins last year 8.5 all round with 275/40/20 lowered on 50mm eibachs and did get slight rubbing on full lock

Hi Andy!
Actually I have not made up my mind yet - winter has arrived here and I do not want to have studded tires on 20" :)
But to be honest I tend to go for 19" due to better tire matching with stock diameter and no need to worry about potential rubbing. But I do have about 2-3monthto think about it
