Hello all,

I'm wanting to get a double 240v socket at the back of the van with the input and CU under the bonnet in a t6.1 swb.. I have been roughly reading up but the question I have is what spec for the cable that travels inside the van.. Is it bog standard 13amp cable that I could chop off an extension drum or is it slightly higher? and if so where would I buy it? many thanks.. I'm in spending mood as I'm picking the van up next week. I believe the CU has to be 2 pole ( cuts both pos and neg )? . Many thanks as always

It needs to be arctic cable. To allow for the temp fluctuations in the van.

Flex will carry higher current than standard twin cables. Output RCBO or MCB size from your consumer unit will dictate your overall cable size. Voltage drop and earth Loop impedance is not so important on a vehicle as it is in electrical installation.
