VW made revisions in 2019 to fix the problem.

but i dont know any more than that. . .

possibly from an engine serial number onwards?

Surely it'd be best for you to look at the sticker and see which engine type the van has?

No, as engine production, van build and van registration never match up.

As above check the engine code via sticker, v5, reg number etc.

Exeb is the older 204ps , cxec is the newer 199ps

We know which engine the van has but it does not give us the information as to whether the vehicle was subject to the piston ring/head revision or not

Will be in KW on the V5; CXEB 150KW, CXEC 146KW.

if its a late 2019 cxeb engine it might have the revised bits, but only VW will know.

the cxec come in in 2019.

fyi my 2018 cxeb was one of the effected ones - i ended up with a new engine.
