Hi all I have a 2017 T6 which has developed an intermittent short causing the main fuse link 40A to ignition to blow

History
I've had a previous intermittent fault for around 4 weeks causing 10A SC30 to blow
This powers the mirrors, Oil sender & Rear park assist, fuse will blow replace it and works fine for a day and randomly blows again.

Just recently on Wednesday last week waiting at traffic light, Go to take off move 2 feet and Main fuse to ignition blows loosing all power to dash
Hazards and radio still works its as if (as others have mentioned removed key from ignition)

Tilt tray to auto electrician car is now in pieces and they can not find what has caused main fuse to blow

I read in here some have hade issues with BCM has anyone else had similar issues?

Faulty ignition barrel maybe ? although it wasn't touched when fuse blew

Thanks for your time

Hi Steve from Australia.

Good-ay mate

Take a look here.

T6 - T6 Fuse Layout SC,SD,SF (NON-CALI)

Sc30 could potentially power a lot more stuff, depending on what's fitted on the van.

Can you post some pics of the blown fuses?

How they have blown will give you an idea on the type of short. (If imaginev it's a allow blow where the wire has got hot and deformed over a longer time)

It's imagine it a wire that's rubbed through somewhere. An vibration is causing the wire to make the short.

This could be tricky to find.

But a good multimeter and a wiggle test should eventually find it.

You're guy will need to check the wire diagram to follow the feed around the van to find the fault.

Got some pics of the van?

Has it a rear conversion?
