Sliding rear windows?

I like the idea of rear sliders but have seen so few vans with them fitted. Is there a reason? Do they look pants or are there problems with them? Anyone got them with pics please?

I have a LWB with factory fit windows on twin slide doors and rear heated tailgate, with wiper, my living space etc is at the rear of van so it would make sense to fit windows in the back and keep the fronts fixed.

I've been looking for my best options with windows i have a slight tint that was factory (Almost no tint ) you can see straight through, which is not dark enough for me and my belongings i want to fit rear quater windows sliding or fixed but dont know what to do?
Regardless of the type of window i fit, is it easier/better to replace all the side windows and tint the rear tailgate for a match
OR
can i possibly leave my factory fit sliding door windows and tailgate and just get away with fitting rear tinted quaters and get the rest tinted to match? I have been told factory fit windows dont take a tint very well due to the little bubbling detail on glass edges.
I know theres a few specialists that supply windows on here through the search feature so would welcome any help and opinions @VGC Ltd

Thanks @Fish if no input my first thought is try the cheaper option first and just buy the rear quarters with windows see what the look like and try match them from there.

Hi @Fish I’ve searched here and other forums for info and images on rear lwb slider tints and even google images personally can’t see any issues apart from mismatched tints (which I should hopefully be able to match, have no experience ever tinting a window btw so don’t know how easy it is to match up one and retrofit tints) Be nice to hear if anyone has any experience, has them fitted or insight. It’s real users reviews that stopped me getting factory sliders in front not the salesman So before I waste money thought I’d try ask.. never know

The OEM rear glass (kombi slider) requires 5% tint AFAIK.
So if the rear is OEM then I'd assume it is easy to match with tint film.
There are members that do this for a living and should be able to help.
@Pauly might have time to find you the OEM part number for rear slider, which is alway better IMO and experience, rather than after market.
Be careful with SOME VGC glass I have some of their glass and is not a shape match for rear quarter, which is surprising as most are CNC matched?.

@sofakingwrong did you ever find a rear quarter slider for lwb other than the ones sold by CamperGlass? I did find a SWB (frustratingly!!!!)

Desperately looking for rear quarter sliders and might have to settle for the CamperGlass, has anyone had any issues with their glass? I’ve used vanwindowsdirect so far and they are excellent - but don’t do rear sliders!

Hi @Phippy, sorry for slow reply been busy.
I got the camper glass ones.. approached several window suppliers and was told the t5 lwb rear sliders fit t6 lwb as same profile.
I have since had them removed by absolute due to numerous conversion issues from another fitter.
I tinted them with 3m shade 3 along with factory windows to get them all to match. You are welcome to them free if you collect from Pr6 postcode (pm me) here’s a pic of them.

Hi there I’m looking to install sliding rear windows into 2016 Caravelle and concerned about them fitting with the blinds, any help would be much appreciated!! Many thanks

Dear all, T6 Newby here and would greatly appreciate some help please! Currently cooking the kids in the back of the Van and want to install sliding rear windows and hear all sorts or horror stories re leaking and non fitment owing to window blinds.. any guidance would be greatly appreciated please many thanks

For window install I WOULD recommend Dean and VanDoc, Worcestershire.

However, I am unsure if 'cooking the kids' is legal in the UK. ?? Must be either a massive hob or little kids.

Morning!

Been waiting for the above to arrive in stock at Kiravans but they dont have an ETA.

Van Demon do a set with a fitting kit. Can anyone comment on how they compare?

Thanks
