20” Wheel Rolling Radius Calibration T6.1

Hi All,

I’ve done a quick search and haven’t found exactly what I’m after so hoping someone can help me with the answer please.

Is it possible to recalibrate the wheel speed sensor on a t6.1 to account for the change in rolling radius when putting different size wheels on?

TIA,

Lee

I think it’s possible via VCDS but it’s a one time setting change I believe! I remember seeing something on here about it and if you get it wrong you cant go back. I am sure someone with more VCDS knowledge will chime in though. As long as you watch the tyre size on 20s you should be fine though.. A 20 inch with 265/40 reads about spot on. I had some wheels with 275/45 tyres on some 20s i bought and that made it read below, which obvs isn’t good!

Mine is on 265/40/20 and under reads slightly.

68mph on the dash is 70mph gps according to waze.

I understand that it is one adjustment only, make a mistake and its just too bad can not revert back. Any one doing this on a T6.1 should be very cautious perhaps give it to someone who really knows what the are doing and consider do you real want to stick with a particular fashion, because fashions change like a chameleon.

I had a VW independent update mine, so that the Speedo reads correctly on 20” wheels. As already mentioned , this needs to be carried out in VCDS by an expert. I was charged £40.00 for the work.
