12v pump to run a tap and a hose

Afternoon.

I'm putting a small, retractable hose at the back of my van to squirt people / wash my bike. A friend built a portable 12v (sorta) pressure washer, it's incredibly useful. Built it for a tenner with a cheapo eBay pump from China. Is there any reason I can't just run this from the same pump that will run my tap? I can 2 way switch it so I can turn it on from the back. I intend to just use a y-splitter to each outlet.

Can't see why this would not work, but I'm frequently worng. And if so, any recommendations on a pump? Don't mind spending a bit more to get something with enough pressure to push mud off my bike.

Cheers
Si

A half decent bilge pump pushes a lot of water,a 360g/h Rule pump is less than £30 as i remember, will empty a bucket in about ten seconds

Actually I did think immediately after posting this that I probably don't want a powerful pump attached to the tap. Might be a bit too exciting getting water for a brew. Will run 2 if I need to.
