Hi Guys, I cant decide on 112cm or 120cm RIB Bed. Whats your thought on advantages or disadvantages?

The reason I fancy a 1200 is because I'm looking at ordering the EVO Designs Pro Kit which has the 1200 in the kit.

Thanks
Paul

I suggest you have a look at vans with both before you decide

We were worried that the bed would be too narrow but I actually sleep better in the van than I do at home.

Brilliant guys, going for the 1200. Our water and gas will be under slung that so frees up space anyways!

Cheers Paul

I've spec'd the 112 for ours as when comparing you didn't notice the difference between the beds a great deal however you really noticed the lack of storage in the narrower cupboards. I also figured if I'm taking the other half I need to account for all the rubbish she brings. Less room for scatter cushions.

I agree with your thinking; the 8cm on the bed in negligible but makes a big different to how you can use the side storage cupboards.

Our side cupboards are where we store all of our pots, pans, food etc. With the 112cm bed we have 30cm usable depth in the cupboards, enough space to flat stack dinner plates, bowls, decent size pans, etc., in a way that they are readily accessible and packed away neatly out of sight when not required. The wider, 120cm, bed would cut this depth down to 22cm and mean we would have to totally rethink how we store this stuff that permanently lives in the van and would probably end up with them in boxes under the seat alongside our clothes bags - it would be a right pain having to get them out and pack away every time they are used.

PS. I managed to get Jo down to one cushion and I only allowed that because it's stuffed with a fleece blanket for some added warmth (that we've not yet required). :)

@Davenjo I like the idea of a blanket stuffed cushion. I may have to my lady to make something like that, It will keep her busy for days if not weeks.

We have Bodans Lythwood 'L shape' conversion with the 130cm bed which makes our rear seat a 3 seater, so our cupboards are reduced right down to 22cm but the extra room we get under the bed is ideal for our food stored in packing boxes and all the larger items, the one down side i would definitely say is that the tambour door wardrobe is useless for hanging clothes so we are converting it to extra shelves, we also had extra overhead cupboards fitted but are yet to find anything to put in them (no doubt this will change when the wife finds out they are empty;)) at the end of the day we all have the same cm3 of space to work with it is personal preference, but i did want more room in the bed than my frying pan has in the cupboard !!!!!!!. :p
