£99.00 Bed That Fits A Swb Kombi Perfectly

Thats a shame. We can get a mattress in the back behind the back seats but it would be nice to be lifted off the floor. I don’t want to build something permanent as I use the back for work so need the space. Think ikea are out of stock of them at the minute but would be handy to try it out before buying one lol

I’m in Shrewsbury. Happy for you to try mine for size.

If the seats are rocked forward, then yeah it should fit?!

Hi
I made a shelf out of 18mm ply and use self retracing ratchet straps to lift it up and down
Then use air bed when camping .
Can be took out or left flat on the floor
I keep it fixed up most of the time as a parcel shelf, also good for hiding stuff underneath.
It’s solid when fixed in place, I used extra straps underneath to fix to lashing points to stop it moving
The ratchet straps are rated to 250kg swl , break at 500kg, from Halfords .
This is good if you need full van space for work etc ,so didn’t want anything fixed in van.
Just had to drill a couple of 10mm holes to support front of board, using 2 lashing points from floor
Also in the back I used motorsport harness bolts which screw in to existing seatbelt mounting holes behind panel

As thread suggests.
Now that we have spent 3 weeks of sleeping on the bed I thought it worthy of posting on here.
Got it from Ikea, £99, fitted in 15 minutes literally, fits behind the 2nd row of seats and leaves nearly 2ft of luggage space behind.
To go touring take out the 2nd row of seats, leave the bed folded up for day seating and fold down for night sleeping, when down you have 2ft at the bottom to get changed etc
Ok so not a RIB but it's not £2k either.
Best thing is, you can remove it in 2 minutes flat.View attachment 28766
Brilliant!
Ingenious!!
I wonder how many people have now followed your lead?

Hi what’s the width between your carpeted wheel arches? I have the plastic wheel arch covers and don’t know if the bed would fit between my arches. Thanks.
Not sure of the actual measurements but the bed is really tight. Literally a perfect fit. You'd struggle with anything other than carpet lining.

You think that these beds could be cut in half and made telescopic with thumb twist locks.
Think maybe it would make the overall cost 120-150£

Edit: i.e with a sleeve tubes over existing frame
