timing belt

Hi everybody, I have t6 TDI 2.0 with DSG, 2019, SWB I brought it to the repairing shop to change the timing belt. A day later the guy from the shop told be that DSG must be uninstalled to do the job. Is it really necessary? Or the timing belt can be changed without DSG uninstalling?
