Ok, so it seems that I have had a massive noddy moment. A month ago I popped a litre of oil in the van to top it up as the MFD had told me to do so (this is quite normal for my van, I have always found it needs a top up in the year it is not serviced with it being on long life). Fast forward...

Update to the above; left rear abs/ wheel speed sensor replaced, job done, all dashboard warning lights stay un-illuminated.

New part arrived from eBay today, fitted, works fine; phew!! So the part from GSF was a load of old pony, despite their claim it was for the correct vehicle. So that one has been returned and refunded.

Can’t say for certain as haven’t actually seen the 6.1 up close, but isn’t it just a facelift and therefore the underlying skeleton being the same as the 6? If so, can’t see why you wouldn’t be able to do this. But like i say this is nothing more than a summation rather definitive knowledge.

Yes that is correct, still only working on blower setting 4. Naff all on 1/2/3.

So as an update on mine. Went to GSF and picked one up today. Just fitted it, no difference :mad:. Going to have to order one off eBay that details it as specific VW to see if that is different. Really annoying as GSF said this was the right part for the van.

Having carried on searching the forum it would appear so (this was the first post that came up when I searched heater control). Guess I need to start searching eBay for resistor controls.

@Tony P does this part sort out the heater speed controls? Mine is only blowing on fan speed 4, although a/c light turns on at speed 1/2&3 - just doesn’t actually blow on those settings. So it is full bore or nothing.
