    Problem with wiring them to sidelight means you physically have to turn sidelights on to get them to work. Whereas with ignition they're on regardless whether you have lights on or not Not an issue, of course.

    Red = 12v to supply socket Brown = earth for both Grey = 12v supply to light That's my educated guess

    If it is a light in there, follow the black wire and see where it goes to, the earth will be common for both the 12v socket and the light.

    If your ac is set to coldest then it won't work. Turn temp up one notch and it operates fine.
