It should be relatively easy to disable it by coding out the direct tpms module from the gateway but there will be several adaption channels in the headunit and the cluster that would need to be changed to fully remove it

I think you would need to disable/remove direct to activate indirect, its likely there would be some coding/adaption conflicts

You can buy retrofit kits to do it in the factory style, it’s reasonably involved as the wiring runs the length of the van, control module and speaker go in the lower dash area and the bumper needs to come off to cut the holes in it (requires a particular tool to do it neatly)

Have you driven it since you reset the tyres on the dash, it needs a few miles to relearn the rotational values of the tyres before it’s ready to monitor any value decreases and present a puncture warning, perhaps the situation will improve with a bit of driving
If you charged direct to the battery the the van won’t have seen any charge go in to the battery, I imagine it will sort it self out after it’s been driven around a bit ?
Most of the errors are generic and referencing other faults in others modules (missing message) and some of them don’t add up like saying a module can’t be reached when it now shows as present and fault free
Wipe it clear the errors and start again and see what comes back
Dont forget to adjust the battery selector cable (the black one)
For AGM this cable will be connected to 0v and to select lithium profile it will need to be moved to +12v
If it doesnt have a towbar then the answer is no, generally VW dont put any wiring in that wasnt specced/ordered so unless someone paid for towbar prep when ordering then there wont be any cabling for it
